Wester Carmuirs is a Roman camp located in Stirlingshire, Scotland, situated on Coal Measures bedrock that underlies much of the central Scottish coalfield. The camp occupies ground formed from mudstone, siltstone and sandstone of Moscovian age, geological strata that have shaped human settlement patterns across this region for millennia.
