Whaness Burn enclosure is a Post-Medieval field enclosure located on the island of Hoy in Orkney, situated approximately 1680 metres north-north-east of the Neolithic chambered cairn known as the Dwarfie Stane. The enclosure represents the agricultural land management practices of the Post-Medieval period and contributes to understanding the pattern of settlement and farming on Hoy during this era. Its physical remains survive as a boundary or field divider characteristic of improved farming landscapes developed from the sixteenth century onwards on the Scottish islands.
