Dewlish Roman villa is a substantial courtyard villa in central Dorset, occupied from the later 2nd century through the 4th century AD. It developed from a modest winged-corridor building into an elaborate residence with multiple ranges, mosaic-floored rooms, and a bath suite, characteristic of the prosperous rural elite of the Durotrigan civitas during the late Roman period.

The villa sits within the dense cluster of wealthy Dorset villas (including nearby Frampton, Hinton St Mary, and Tarrant Hinton) whose 4th-century flourishing reflects the agricultural prosperity of the Dorchester (Durnovaria) hinterland. Dewlish is particularly noted for its fine geometric mosaics, placing it among the works associated with the Durnovarian mosaic school.
Excavations directed by Bill Putnam from the 1970s onwards revealed the villa plan, polychrome mosaics (including geometric and figured panels), painted wall plaster, hypocausts, and a bath block, alongside coins and pottery indicating occupation into the late 4th century. The site is also famous for the unexpected discovery, in deposits beneath the villa, of fossil elephant remains — a notable curiosity though unrelated to the Roman occupation.
