The site forms part of a dense cluster of villas in the Chess and Colne valleys — including Sarratt, Latimer, and Northchurch — that supplied agricultural produce to nearby urban centres, reflecting the prosperity of the Verulamium hinterland. It is not individually notable but contributes to the regional picture of intensive villa-based farming in south-west Hertfordshire.
Remains were identified during landscaping and use of the Moor Park golf course in the 20th century, with finds including building materials, pottery, and traces of masonry walls, but no modern open-area excavation has been published. The full plan, status, and economic basis of the villa therefore remain poorly understood.
