Biography

Aileen Riggin, born in Newport, Rhode Island in 1906, was a competitive swimmer and diver. She won the Olympic springboard diving championship in 1920 and held the U.S. national springboard diving title from 1923 to 1925. After leaving competition, she worked in acting, coaching, writing, and journalism, and remained active in promoting women's swimming throughout her life. She died in 2002.
