Robert Foster Bennett was born in Salt Lake City in 1933 and worked as a lobbyist, political scientist, politician, and businessperson. He served as a United States senator from Utah between 1993 and 2011, holding chairmanships and senior positions on the Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, the Appropriations Committee, the Rules and Administration Committee, the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, and the Joint Economic Committee. He died in 2016.
