John Moses Browning was born in Ogden, Utah, in 1855 and died in 1926. A firearms designer, gunsmith, inventor, and entrepreneur, he developed military and civilian firearms, cartridges, and gun mechanisms, many of which remained in use globally. He constructed his first firearm at age 13 in his father's gun shop and received his first of 128 firearm patents on October 7, 1879, when he was 24 years old.
