Biography
Bob Dole was born in Russell, Kansas in 1923 and worked as a lawyer, jurist, and politician. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1961 to 1969, then represented Kansas in the Senate from 1969 to 1996, where he held Republican leadership positions including three separate terms as Senate Majority Leader. He was the Republican vice presidential nominee in 1976 and the Republican presidential nominee in 1996. He died in 2021.
