Biography
Dennis Weaver was born in Joplin, Missouri in 1924 and worked as an actor in television, film, and stage, as well as a screenwriter and aircraft pilot. He served as president of the Screen Actors Guild and appeared in Gunsmoke as Chester Goode and in McCloud as Deputy Marshal Sam McCloud. Weaver starred in the 1971 television film Duel, directed by Steven Spielberg, and played a motel attendant in Orson Welles's Touch of Evil from 1958. He died in 2006.
