Biography

Frank Borman was born in Gary, Indiana in 1928 and worked as a military flight engineer, aircraft pilot, test pilot, and astronaut. He commanded Apollo 8, the first mission to fly around the Moon, and with crewmates Jim Lovell and William Anders became among the first humans to do so. He received the Congressional Space Medal of Honor for this achievement and died in 2023.
