George Whipple was born in Ashland, New Hampshire in 1878 and worked as a pathologist and physician. In 1934, he shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with George Richards Minot and William Parry Murphy for discoveries concerning liver therapy in cases of anemia. He died in 1976.
