Biography
Jack Swigert was born in Denver, Colorado in 1931 and worked as a military pilot, test pilot, and aerospace engineer. He served as command module pilot on Apollo 13 in April 1970, a mission that required the crew to abort the Moon landing and return to Earth by flying around the Moon. The Apollo 13 astronauts traveled farther from Earth than any other astronauts until the planned Artemis II lunar flyby. Swigert died in 1982.
