Jeanne Eagels was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 26, 1890, and worked as a stage and film actor. She appeared in numerous Broadway productions and in sound films. She died on October 3, 1929, at age 39, and received a posthumous Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her role in The Letter that same year.
