Lyle Mays was born in Wausaukee, Wisconsin in 1953 and died in 2020. A jazz pianist and composer, he was a member of the Pat Metheny Group, where he and Metheny composed and arranged nearly all of the group's music. Mays won eleven Grammy Awards for this work.
