Polly Holliday was born on July 2, 1937, in Jasper, Alabama. She worked as an actor in stage and screen productions, and appeared as Florence Jean "Flo" Castleberry on the 1970s sitcom Alice, for which she won two Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actress. She also portrayed Ruby Deagle in Gremlins, winning the 1984 Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress. Holliday died on September 9, 2025.
