Biography

Spiro Agnew was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1918 and worked as a lawyer, jurist, and politician. He served as executive of Baltimore County from 1962 to 1966, then as governor of Maryland from 1967 to 1969, before becoming the 39th vice president of the United States under Richard Nixon in 1969. He resigned from the vice presidency in 1973 and was the second vice president to resign from office. He died in 1996.
