The Battle

History & Significance

The high point and rapid disappointment of Glyndŵr's French alliance. Charles VI of France sent a substantial force that joined Glyndŵr in Wales. They marched as far as Woodbury Hill near Worcester — but the English army under Henry IV declined battle and the French and Welsh, running low on supplies, withdrew. The expedition achieved nothing strategically and the French never returned in force.
