The Battle

History & Significance

Lord Herbert extended Yorkist operations to Caernarfon in 1468 as the final Lancastrian resistance in north Wales collapsed with the fall of Harlech. Caernarfon town and district, which had remained sympathetic to Jasper Tudor, was brought firmly under Yorkist authority. Remaining Lancastrian sympathisers were required to take oaths of loyalty to Edward IV or face forfeiture.
