History & Significance

A naval battle between the Lord of the Isles and his illegitimate son Angus Mór Og. The son won and briefly held his father prisoner. The bitter family conflict fatally weakened the Lordship of the Isles just when it needed unity — within a decade, James IV would destroy the Lordship entirely.
