Coity Castle in Glamorgan was one of the most celebrated sieges of the Glyndwr rebellion. The English garrison held out against a prolonged Welsh siege without relief for over a year. The garrison's tenacity and the difficulty of conducting sieges without heavy artillery both contributed to the castle's survival. Coity's resistance tied down significant Welsh forces in the Vale of Glamorgan. Its survival was celebrated in contemporary English accounts.
Welsh rebels (Glyndŵr): c. 1,500–3,000 men in siege. English garrison: c. 100–200 men.
