Thomas Neville the Bastard of Fauconberg assembled Kentish levies at Blackheath in May 1471 while Edward IV was engaged at Barnet and Tewkesbury. The Blackheath muster echoed Cade's Rebellion and threatened London from the south-east while Fauconberg's fleet blockaded the Thames.
