History & Significance

A second major clan clash at Clachnaharry — the traditional conflict point on the Beauly Firth near Inverness — in the late fifteenth century. Clachnaharry (the stone of watching) saw multiple battles between rival clans throughout the medieval period; this engagement came a generation after the more famous 1454 battle at the same site, again involving the MacKintoshes.
