The Battle

History & Significance

Following Bosworth, Rhys ap Thomas acting on behalf of Henry VII conducted military operations across Glamorgan to pacify Yorkist holdouts and assert Tudor authority. Rhys became the dominant military figure in south Wales, using his retinue to enforce the new Tudor order. Several estates of Yorkist supporters were seized and their owners compelled to submit.
