The Battle

History & Significance

Glyndwr forces attack the outworks and town of Caernarfon at Tuthill, burning much of the town outside the castle walls in November 1401. The castle garrison holds and the English constable fires back. Two letters survive from the garrison describing the desperate situation and begging for supplies and reinforcements.
