The Battle

History & Significance

Dafydd Gam, a Breconshire gentleman and staunch English loyalist, actively hunts Glyndwr on behalf of Henry IV in the Brecon and mid-Wales uplands. In 1412 Glyndwr forces ambush and capture Dafydd Gam himself, holding him for a large ransom. The capture of such a prominent English loyalist demonstrates that Glyndwr still commands significant local support.
