History & Significance

Following Bruce victory at the Pass of Brander, the MacDonald allies of Bruce pursued the defeated MacDougalls along Loch Etive in a series of skirmishes that destroyed MacDougall military power in Lorn. The Loch Etive pursuit completed the rout begun at Brander and marked the transfer of Lorn supremacy from MacDougall to the Bruce-allied MacDonalds.
