The Battle

History & Significance

Warwick, Salisbury and the Earl of March landed at Sandwich in June 1460 and marched rapidly northward through London and on to Northampton to bring the Lancastrian royal army to battle. The march demonstrated the Yorkists could move through a sympathetic home counties population.
