The marching camp at Durno near Bennachie in Aberdeenshire is the largest Roman temporary camp in Scotland, capable of holding an army of some 30,000 men. Its proximity to Bennachie — the best candidate for Mons Graupius — and its scale make it almost certainly the camp from which Agricola launched the final battle. The site confirms the Aberdeenshire location of the climactic engagement.
