The Frasers periodically attempted to extend their influence westward into Badenoch but were checked by the MacKintosh-led Clan Chattan confederation. This skirmish at the open moor known as Blar Mor was one such check. The boundaries between Fraser and Clan Chattan territories remained contested throughout the fifteenth century.
