As part of the coordinated Buckingham rebellion of October 1483 former Woodville supporters and household men of Edward IV raised Kent at Gravesend. The Kent rising was part of a southern England-wide coordination involving Surrey, Berkshire, Wiltshire and the west country all rising simultaneously against Richard III.
