History & Significance

Following the 1603 proscription of Clan Gregor after Glenfruin, MacGregor bands continued to operate in their traditional territories around Loch Lomond and Strath Fillan. The proscription made it legal to kill any MacGregor on sight and removed all legal protections from the clan. Despite this, organized resistance continued for years in the hill passes.

Forces Involved

The size of the opposing forces is not recorded in the surviving sources.
