Outcome
No engagement took place at Taunton itself. On learning that royal forces under Giles Daubeney were closing in, Warbeck fled by night with a small group of followers and was captured seeking sanctuary at Beaulieu Abbey. Henry VII arrived at Taunton on 4 October 1497 and received the surrender of the remaining Cornish rebel army; ringleaders were later executed and others fined. Warbeck was imprisoned and eventually executed in 1499
