Ach a' Chuil is a broch located approximately 700 metres west of the eastern end of Loch Naver in Sutherland, Scotland. This Iron Age fortified roundhouse dates to the later prehistoric period and represents the architectural tradition of broch construction characteristic of northern Scotland during the first centuries BC and AD. The monument survives as a substantial circular stone structure, exhibiting the characteristic hollow-walled design typical of brochs, which provided both structural strength and defensive capability. The site's location in the north Highlands reflects the distribution of such monuments across the far north of Scotland, where they served as high-status residences and fortified settlements during the Iron Age.
