Bank of Six Vertical Limekilns at Minera Quarry is a group of lime-burning installations dating from the post-medieval and modern industrial period in Denbighshire, Wales. The six vertical kilns represent the industrial-scale lime production that characterised the Minera quarrying operations, which exploited the local limestone resources to supply lime for agricultural improvement and construction purposes across North Wales and beyond. The kilns are substantial masonry structures typical of their type and period, designed to achieve the high temperatures necessary for the calcination of limestone into quicklime. This monument survives as an important archaeological record of Welsh industrial heritage and demonstrates the scale and technical sophistication of lime manufacturing during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
