Berryhill enclosure, located 290 metres north of Berryhill in Aberdeenshire, is a post-medieval field enclosure of uncertain precise date within the early modern period. The monument consists of a substantial ditch and bank forming an enclosed agricultural space, typical of the landscape reorganisation that characterised rural Scotland from the sixteenth century onwards. Such enclosures represent the gradual formalisation of land division and management practices during the transition from medieval to early modern farming systems. The site remains an example of the vernacular agricultural infrastructure that shaped the development of the Scottish countryside during this transitional period.
