Castle mound W of Court Farm is a motte-and-bailey castle earthwork located in Herefordshire. The monument comprises a substantial mound of Norman date, typical of the fortified ringworks and motte structures that proliferated in the Welsh Marches during the eleventh and twelfth centuries as lords sought to consolidate territorial control. The site preserves evidence of the medieval military architecture characteristic of the period when Norman settlers established their authority across the border region.
