Buzbury Rings is a multiphase prehistoric monument located near Tarrant Hinton in Dorset, comprising a causewayed enclosure of Neolithic date overlain by an Iron Age hillfort with substantial defensive outworks. The site displays the characteristic interrupted ditch system typical of Neolithic causewayed camps, later superseded by concentric ramparts and ditches of Iron Age construction that created a strongly defended settlement. The multiple phases of occupation and refortification demonstrate the site's importance as a focal point for community activity across more than two thousand years of prehistory. The monument is designated as a heritage asset of national importance due to its archaeological potential and the evidence it preserves for understanding settlement patterns and defensive strategies in southern England during the Neolithic and Iron Age periods.
