Dornock is a Roman temporary camp and associated ring-ditches located approximately 450 metres west-southwest of Dornock in Perthshire, Scotland. The temporary camp, identifiable from its characteristic defensive ditches and ramparts, dates to the period of Roman military activity in Scotland, likely corresponding to one of the campaigns of the first or second century AD. The ring-ditches represent earlier settlement activity and attest to human occupation of the site in prehistory, probably the Bronze Age, predating the Roman presence by many centuries. Together, these archaeological features demonstrate the palimpsest of occupation that characterises many Scottish archaeological landscapes, where later military installations were established in areas already significant to preceding populations.
