The monument comprises two distinct components typical of the Neolithic period: a chambered cairn, which served as a communal burial structure, and an associated stone circle that formed part of a ceremonial landscape. The site reflects the ritual and funerary practices of Neolithic communities in northern Scotland, representing a significant period of settlement and monument construction dating to approximately four thousand years before the present.
