Edinburgh Town Wall, Flodden Wall and Telfer Wall at Heriot Place is a defensive structure comprising sections of Edinburgh's medieval and early modern fortifications located in Midlothian, Scotland. The Flodden Wall was constructed in the early sixteenth century following the Scottish defeat at the Battle of Flodden in 1513, representing a significant civic investment in the city's defence during a period of heightened vulnerability. The Telfer Wall forms part of this defensive circuit and dates to the same period of fortification expansion. The surviving sections at Heriot Place preserve important evidence of Edinburgh's urban military architecture, demonstrating the substantial stone construction and scale of these defences that once enclosed the expanding medieval burgh.
