Ewenni Priory is a twelfth-century Benedictine foundation located in the Vale of Glamorgan, south Wales. The priory was established in the 1100s and developed as a daughter house of the Norman monastery at Tewkesbury, serving as an important centre of monastic life and landholding in medieval Glamorgan. The surviving structures include the fortified gatehouse, part of the precinct wall, and fragments of the conventual buildings, which reflect both the religious function of the community and the defensive requirements of a border region. The site preserves significant evidence of medieval monastic occupation and remains an important testimony to Norman religious architecture and settlement patterns in Wales.
