Fort Cottage is an Iron Age fort situated approximately 1360 metres west-south-west of Fort Cottage in Wigtownshire, south-western Scotland. The site comprises a univallate hillfort characterised by a single defensive rampart, typical of Iron Age fortified settlements in the region. Though subject to considerable erosion and modern disturbance over subsequent centuries, the fort represents the Iron Age settlement patterns of south-western Scotland, a period when such defended enclosures served as focal points for territorial control and communal activity. The monument is recorded within the Historic Environment Record under the official designation HES INSPIRE SM5128.
