Glencaple burnt mound is a Bronze Age monument located approximately 980 metres west-north-west of Glencaple in Lanarkshire, Scotland. Burnt mounds are characteristic archaeological features of the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age, typically comprising accumulations of fire-cracked stones mixed with charcoal and organic debris, and are thought to represent the remains of communal cooking or processing sites where heated stones were used to boil water in wooden troughs.
