Great Garnetts moated site is a medieval enclosed settlement located near Loughton in Essex. The site comprises a substantial rectangular moat which encloses an area typical of high medieval domestic occupation, likely dating to the twelfth or thirteenth century. Such moated sites were characteristic features of the medieval Essex landscape, serving both as defensive structures and as status symbols for landholding families of middling rank. The monument survives as earthwork remains and represents an important example of medieval settlement archaeology in the Home Counties.
