Grummore is a depopulated township situated on the shores of Loch Naver in Sutherland, in the Scottish Highlands. The settlement represents the remains of a pre-Clearance rural community, with evidence of traditional habitation patterns characteristic of the medieval and early modern periods. The township comprises the physical traces of domestic structures and field systems that document the agricultural settlement of the loch's margins before abandonment during the period of Highland depopulation. Such sites are valuable archaeological records of settlement organisation and land use in the northern Highlands prior to the major upheavals of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
