Lawhead Hill is a post-medieval palisaded enclosure situated approximately 400 metres north-east of West Mains in East Lothian, Scotland. The monument consists of a substantial timber palisade that enclosed an area on the hillside, representing a form of defensive or administrative structure characteristic of the early modern period. Such palisaded enclosures were constructed across lowland Scotland during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, serving purposes ranging from protective compounds to stock enclosures or temporary fortifications.
