Llanquian Castle is a motte in Glamorgan, Wales, designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument under Cadw reference GM225. The site represents a form of early medieval fortification characteristic of the Norman period in Wales, when such earthwork castles were constructed to establish and maintain Anglo-Norman control over conquered territories. The motte survives as an earthwork monument, comprising the characteristic raised mound typical of this defensive architecture, which would originally have supported timber or stone structures. Such mottes were generally constructed during the eleventh and twelfth centuries and functioned as administrative and military centres within the broader process of Norman settlement and lordship in South Wales.
