Meikle Fleuchat is a post-medieval shieling settlement located approximately 1060 metres south-east of Shiel in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The site comprises a complex of shielings and associated enclosures typical of the upland pastoral economy that flourished in the Scottish Highlands and Southern Uplands from the sixteenth century onwards. These structures represent the seasonal grazing practices and transhumance patterns of early modern Scotland, where livestock were moved to high pasture grounds during summer months. The physical remains visible at the site illustrate the material culture of pastoral communities and their management of marginal upland terrain during the post-medieval period.
