Nant-y-Car South Lead Mine is a post-medieval and modern lead extraction site located in Wales. The mine exploits mineralisation within the Ashgill Rocks, a sequence of mudstone, siltstone and sandstone of Ashgill age that forms the bedrock across the site. Lead-bearing veins within these sedimentary strata made the location commercially viable for exploitation during the post-medieval period and into modern times.
