Nunraw Barns is a Post-Medieval palisaded enclosure located in East Lothian, Scotland, situated approximately 180 metres south-south-west of Nunraw Barns farm buildings. The enclosure is defined by a substantial palisade of wooden posts, a defensive feature typical of Post-Medieval fortified farmsteads and agricultural settlements in lowland Scotland. This monument dates from the Post-Medieval period, a time when such palisaded defences were employed to protect livestock and domestic resources during periods of social unrest or frontier raiding in the Scottish Borders region and adjacent areas.
